About & Privacy

The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) is headquartered on Chesapeake Bay, but its scientists and teachers work on coastal zones all over the world. For more than 50 years, they have tracked climate change, invasive species, food webs and other environmental issues impacting the land-sea interface. Shorelines details their discoveries, the weird creatures they’ve encountered and the strange but true science of the coasts. See below for information about how we collect and use information on our blog. Questions? Contact Kristen Goodhue at GoodhueK@si.edu.
